Plane parts

Image result for cub plane

This is a picture of a Piper Cub. Like all planes, it has many main parts.

The Fuselage. This is like the torso of the plane. It is the main body of where everything connects. It is usually also where all the people are.

The Tail. This is all the stuff at the rear of the plane. It has a couple of parts, including the horizontal and vertical stabilizer, as well as the rudder and elevator. These are used to steer the plane and keep it from spinning out of control.

Wings. Wings make it fly. Without it, it would be an inefficient, skinny, and awkward car. If  you didn’t know, it is that big horizontal slab.

Landing Gear: The wheels

Cockpit: This is where the pilots are.

Powerplant/engine: This is what powers the plane. In this case, it is a piston engine with a propeller attached to it. The propeller spins, creating thrust.

That is about it! Of corse, there are really small things about aircraft too, but these are the main parts.
