This is where I put my thoughts on my store-bought RC aircraft. (Not including kits or home built models)
E-flite Timber
This is the E-flite Timber, a RC bush plane. A bush plane is an aircraft designed to be able to fly and land in bumpy and hard to reach places. It has huge foam tires with springs which help it along tall grass or rocks. It also has a very high power to weight ratio. This means for the weight of the plane (3 pounds) it has a ton of thrust and power. This plane has 5 channels. Thrust, rudder, elevator, ailerons, and flaps. Flaps make the aircraft able to fly slowly without stalling, or loosing all lift. The flaps can be retracted for faster and even aerobatic flight. There are also optional stats on the leading edge of the wing. These are permanent, but they help the performance greatly at slow speeds.
This plane also has a feature called safe. It limits the bank angle. It also has something called AS3X. Three axis gyro stabilization. It helps (does not eliminate) with the wind knocking it around.
Overall, I give it a 4.5/5 for stability and tracking, 5/5 for slow landing speed, 3/5 for transportation, 4/5 for price, a 3.9/5 for assembly,(it did not go too smoothly for me, but I got it and I think it was because I had not done a thing like this before), and 4.75/5 for overall fun and recreation. I like this plane, and I am going to keep it for a very Very long time.

Horizon Hobby Champ
This was my first plane ever. It is a great little plane and it can take a beating, so it is not a big deal if you crash. It is easy for beginners because it is three channel, and it is a great price for a small plane. Though it does not have any extra features like AS3X, GPS, Gyros, or auto-land, it is still a good aircraft, with very forgiving behavior. By the way, this aircraft, in order to be so slow and light, has a single chip that is an all in one ESC, BEC, Rx, and servos.
It comes fully assembled, unlike the Timber, which takes about an hour of assembly, and the Champ also comes with a battery, charger, and an okay transmitter that works well. This is called RTF, or ready to fly. It is great if you have nothing to start with.
Recommended for beginners. It also looks awesome in the air.
